The person who signs the assessment
A stress risk assessment is only worth what its author's judgement is worth, and the reader deciding that is usually a board that did not commission it. So the standing behind it is set out here in full, with what is checkable marked as such.
Where the judgement comes from
Seventeen years in wellbeing and leadership, and board-level advisory work since 2021. The public health fellowship is the one that matters most here.
Seventeen years in wellbeing and leadership, and since 2021 working with board members and executives across sectors including healthcare, technology, financial services, and spirits industries. Supporting people on boards and in senior leadership from organisations including NHS trusts and global companies, advising through critical decisions, stakeholder conflict, and strategic challenges. Supporting leaders when the stakes are highest and the path forward isn't clear.
You don't learn board dynamics from a textbook. You learn them from working alongside leaders facing real challenges, understanding their context, and helping them navigate complexity.
Craig holds two Fellowships—FRSPH, of the Royal Society for Public Health, and FCMI, of the Chartered Management Institute—and was the Institute of Directors South West Ambassador for Wellbeing from 2021 to 2026. The IoD appointment is a matter of public record and is linked below; neither professional body publishes a public register of its fellows, so those two rest on Craig's own confirmation and are recorded as such in this repository's claims register.
In 2026 he served as a judge on the Achievement and Thought Leadership Judging Committee for the International Business Awards, the Stevie Awards' international programme, assessing entries from organisations around the world.
The public health fellowship is the one that decides what this practice is. Psychosocial risk is a population-level question about how work is organised—who is exposed, to what, and how the organisation would know—rather than an HR programme. That is the discipline the assessment is carried out in.
Craig also works one to one with individual directors, separately from the work Lighthouse does with organisations. That side of the practice, and his own account of how he came to it, is at confidential counsel for senior leaders.

Working across sectors is what makes the pattern visible: the same failure shows up in a hospital trust and a distillery, and having seen it somewhere else is most of what an outside assessment is worth. The context changes; the way work creates risk does not, nearly as much as each industry believes.

Why I Do This Work
It's personal. It's about people.
I've advised boards and executives facing strategic decisions that affect thousands of people. I've seen brilliant leaders struggle under impossible pressure. I've watched organisations damage people through systems they didn't even realise were broken.
This work isn't about credentials or frameworks—it's about helping people navigate the hardest challenges of leadership. Board dynamics that feel impossible. Executive pressure that keeps you awake at night. Organisational wellbeing issues that everyone knows exist but nobody knows how to fix.
My commitment is simple: If I take on your work, I'm genuinely invested in your success. Not because of a contract, but because I believe in helping people lead better, govern better, and create healthier organisations.
The Fellowships and credentials matter—they represent decades of learning and professional rigor. But what matters more is whether I can actually help you solve the specific challenge you're facing. Sometimes I can. Sometimes I can't. But I'll always be honest about it.
If you're navigating something difficult, let's talk. No obligation. Just a professional conversation about whether I might be able to help.
What People Say About Working With Craig

Cornish Lithium values the work that Craig does supporting our staff in difficult times. Having experienced traumatic moments in my own life when I didn't know who to turn to, I am glad that members of my team have the opportunity to talk to Craig when such circumstances arise. I have always found him a thoughtful and compassionate person and therefore the ideal counsellor in troubled times. I would strongly commend Craig to others for the service he offers.

Craig is the ultimate professional. From start to finish, it is so clear that his aim is how he can help. I would say that over my 5 week course, I had challenges (achievable) yet he stretched me to think further than I would do naturally. Personally, Craig has taught me so much about how I think and how I value what I think. I cannot recommend Craig enough, the most sincere and truly dedicated professional with a passion for developing people mentally. It was a rollercoaster...in a good way, and I cannot thank you enough for making me see more clearly about so many things. Mostly about my self doubt which has held me back for so long.... I am pretty much where I need to be and have the tools to help me get there, thank you so much Craig... your efforts and knowledge are guiding me well and I am excited for my future at work now.

I worked with Craig on a well-being project that we curated with the Healthy Hospo organisation. Craig presented on coping with stress and dealing with anxiety and delivered an informative, engaging and insightful session. I can't recommend Craig highly enough and I for one am looking forward to working with him in the future.

Craig is an absolute workhorse, with a mission to change lives through better governance and a real understanding of what wellbeing means. Much more than an "Employee Assistance Programme" which is a passive device relying on the individual to engage, Craig helps Directors improve overall business performance by making people matter. As an Ambassador for the IoD, he has set a great example, by bring Directors back round the table and focussing on the issues that matter to them.

Craig is one of a kind. He has the professional credentials but also the personal experience needed in his job. He brings such compassion and a sense of humour to his role, which is just what I needed. Great guy :)

Psychiatrists, psychologists, councillors, mentors are all names that we associate with helping us through the mental difficulties that we all go through sometimes but Craig goes past that and simply provides what we need by listening and providing simple advice and observations that 9 times out of ten we already know but are afraid to admit to ourselves. This for me is the core of getting help and what Craig excels at. My thanks to him not only for the clarity but for being a warm and genuine human being who wants to help.
