Who you are contracting with

Lighthouse Mentoring is the trading name of Craig Fearn, a sole trader based in Cornwall, United Kingdom. Correspondence address and full contact details are on the contact page. Enquiries about an order should go to craig.fearn@lighthousementoring.co.uk.

Lighthouse Mentoring is not registered for VAT. The price shown is the price charged, and nothing is added at checkout.

What you are buying

A licence to use a set of digital documents within one organisation, together with the additional materials or time described by the tier you selected. You are not buying an assessment. Lighthouse Mentoring does not review, endorse or certify any assessment you carry out using these materials, except to the limited extent described under the Reviewed tier below.

The materials are supplied for use by a single organisation. They may not be resold, redistributed, published, or supplied to clients as your own product. If you want to use them across multiple client organisations, that is a different licence and needs agreeing in writing first.

One exception. The signposting sheet in the Workplace Suicide Readiness Kit may be reproduced without limit inside your organisation — printed, photocopied, and put on as many walls as you like — without asking. It carries crisis helpline numbers, and a licence term is not a reason for one of those to stay in a drawer. Check the numbers before you reprint it: the sheet is dated for that reason, and helpline numbers change.

Standards, and what these materials are not

These kits are original works. They do not reproduce any part of ISO 45003, BS 30480, or any other publication of the British Standards Institution, and buying a kit does not give you a copy of any standard or any right to one. Standards are copyright and are sold by the bodies that publish them. Where a kit refers to a clause, it does so by number so that you can find it in your own copy.

Material drawn from the Health and Safety Executive is used under the Open Government Licence and is attributed within the documents.

Nothing in these kits certifies anything. There is no accredited certification against ISO 45003 for an organisation to hold, and completing a self-run assessment does not make an organisation certified against any standard.

Delivery

Download links are emailed to the address given at checkout, normally within minutes. Links expire 72 hours after issue and may be used up to ten times; if they lapse, reply to your receipt and replacements will be issued at no charge. Save the files locally rather than relying on the links.

Cancellation, if you are buying as a consumer

If you are buying as an individual rather than for a business, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 give you 14 days to cancel.

Because these are digital downloads, you are asked at checkout to confirm two things: that you want the files supplied immediately, and that you understand you lose the right to cancel once supply begins. Both are recorded with your order. If you give that consent and the files are supplied, the cancellation right ends. If you do not give it, supply waits until the 14 days have passed.

There is no change-of-mind refund after that point. A kit is a set of files: once downloaded it cannot be returned, only deleted, and refunding on request would make it free to anyone who asked. This does not affect your rights if something is wrong with what you received: see the next section and the refund policy.

Quality

Where you buy as a consumer, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires digital content to be of satisfactory quality, fit for the purpose made known to the trader, and as described. Those terms apply and are not excluded. If the materials do not meet them you are entitled to a repair, a replacement, or a price reduction as the Act provides.

Where you buy for a business, the same standard is offered as a contractual term, but the statutory consumer remedies do not apply.

What these materials cannot do

The kits are materials, not advice. They do not constitute legal advice, occupational health advice, or clinical advice, and no professional relationship arises from buying them. Whether your organisation has discharged its duties is a judgement about your organisation that only somebody looking at your organisation can make.

The suicide readiness materials in particular are organisational planning documents. They are not a crisis service and are not a substitute for clinical care. Where an individual is at risk, contact the emergency services or, in the United Kingdom, the Samaritans free on 116 123.

The Reviewed tier

The Reviewed tier includes one 60-minute session reviewing findings you have drafted. It must be booked within 90 days of purchase, and the draft should arrive at least two working days beforehand so that it can be read properly.

The session is a review of your draft. It is not an audit, not an independent assessment, and not an endorsement, and the notes issued afterwards say so. Nothing arising from it may be represented as an assessment carried out by Lighthouse Mentoring.

For the Workplace Suicide Readiness Kit, the Reviewed session looks at a decision record and gap checklist you have completed before anything has happened. It is never a review of a response in progress, and Lighthouse Mentoring will decline to conduct it as one. Crisis response and clinical care are outside what this practice provides, at any tier and at any price. If an incident has occurred, the numbers to call are in the kit's signposting sheet and on its response plan, and the appropriate help is emergency, clinical and bereavement services rather than this one.

You are asked to send aggregated or anonymised findings, not raw staff responses. If personal data is nonetheless shared, Lighthouse Mentoring acts as a processor on your behalf under Article 28 of the UK GDPR: the data is used only to conduct the review, is not disclosed to anyone else, is held only for as long as the review requires and is then deleted, and appropriate technical and organisational measures are applied. You remain the controller. Ask before purchase if you need a separate data processing agreement executed.

Price credit against a commissioned assessment

The full price paid for a kit is credited against the fee for a commissioned assessment, if that assessment is agreed within twelve months of your kit purchase. The credit applies once, to one assessment, and is not exchangeable for money.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Nothing limits the statutory rights of a consumer.

Subject to that, and where you buy for a business, liability for any claim arising from a kit is limited to the price you paid for it, and there is no liability for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or the outcome of decisions you take using the materials.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your own courts.
